The Heights of Soom

Darjeeling Soom First Flush is a tea defined by timing. High in the foothills of the Himalayas, where cool nights and morning mist set the pace, the tea plant slowly awakens after winter.

The name Soom refers to the Soom Tea Estate, one of Darjeeling’s long-established gardens. Set high on steep slopes, Soom is known for its cool microclimate and slow leaf development. This unhurried growth brings refinement: slender leaves, aromatic tension, and a clear expression of spring.

The first young leaves are plucked as soon as spring arrives. This first flush captures a brief moment in the year — light, fresh, and full of energy. The leaf is tender, the flavour bright and lively, marked by floral notes and a fine, almost sparkling structure.

At Soom, the focus is not on volume, but on precision. Careful plucking and gentle processing allow place and season to speak clearly. In the cup, this Darjeeling is transparent and elegant, with a fresh finish that fades quickly and therefore lingers in memory.

This is not a tea that seeks power. It is a tea of altitude and moment — fleeting, refined, and unrepeatable, like spring itself.
